Pierre Dincq has confirmed he has been named chief commercial officer of Antwerp-based Conti7 group.

His new role emerged after TradeWinds reported earlier this month that Dincq, 55, was to step down as head of shipping for Nicolas Saverys-led gas carrier company Exmar after 32 years.

Dincq said he is “very excited to start working for this great company”.

Board member status

He has been a board member of the company for the past two years and will remain so going forward.

Conti7 is a diversified company with a fleet of 30 to 40 vessels, focused primarily on handysize, supramax and ultramax bulkers, with three of them owned.

It is a family-owned company that is active in shipowning, ship operating, agency, logistics, forwarding and warehousing.

Started in 1923, Conti7 also has offices in London and Hong Kong. It has 100 employees.

In its bulker business, it cooperates with GMT Hong Kong, MOL and Marine Chartering Services.

Earlier this month, Dincq told TradeWinds that he had decided to leave the gas sector, although he admitted he had expected to end his career at Exmar.

He said he made his decision to leave this company in October and is departing on good terms. It is expected that his last day at Exmar will be next week.
