A tanker has been damaged in an incident during berthing at Novorossiysk in Russia.

Igor Demin, adviser to the president of Transneft, told reporters that the 105,000-dwt Fos Hamilton (built 2013) was mooring on 22 June.

“In Novorossiysk, the aframax-class tanker FOS Hamilton was damaged during mooring on June 22 in the stern of the port side," he said, according to the RIA website.

A commission has been established to determine the extent of the damage and the cause of the incident, he added.

The tanker did not begin loading operations. No pollution has been reported.

The berth was also damaged and it was unclear whether it could be used.

The ship is listed as owned by Hamilton Shipping LLC.
