A general cargoship is to be sold in France a year after cocaine was found on board.

The 1,500-dwt Carib Palm (built 1977) will be auctioned "as is, where is" in Boulogne-sur-Mer.

Bids must be in by 17 January.

The minimum price is EUR 600,000 ($631,500).

French customs officials seized 2.4 tonnes of drugs worth $55m from the ship in December 2015.

It was en route from Poland from Colombia.

The Moldovan-flagged vessel was listed as controlled by St Vincent-based Carib Coastal Marine Shipping.
