Croatia has said China's CSIC does not look likely to invest in domestic shipbuilder 3 Maj.

The Tportal website cited economy minister Darko Horvat as saying CSIC has no serious intention of entering in a strategic partnership.

The yard is owned by struggling Uljanik Group, which is undergoing bankruptcy restructuring, but 3 Maj is not part of this.

"At this moment, there are no serious intentions on the part of the biggest Chinese shipbuilder, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), to purchase or enter into a strategic partnership with 3 Maj, still part of the Uljanik Group," Horvat said.

The ministry is looking for ways to complete unfinished and cancelled vessels, he added.
