Hyundai Mipo Dockyard has won its first ro-ro order of this year.

A mystery European shipowner has contracted two of the ships at the South Korean shipyard.

HMD told investors today the vessels had a price tag of KRW 163.2bn ($138.9m).

Delivery of the pair, which extend a good summer run for the shipyard, will be delivered by 2022.

While some reports state the latest order is for two car carriers, an HMD spokesperson told TradeWinds the deal is for two ro-ros.

He was unable to provide further details around the contract.

HMD has well over 100 ships in its orderbook and is now around one third of the way to meeting its $3.53m order target for 2019.
