Greek tanker owner Estoril Navigation is re-entering the clean market with the reported purchase of a 12-year-old MR tanker from MOL.

The 74,000-dwt Breezy Victoria (built 2007) was inspected by seven potential buyers, but ended up with Estoril, according to brokers in Europe and the US.

Estoril did not reply to a request for comment.

Firming values

The tanker, which is due for dry-docking in November, has gone for a firm $13.5m.

VesselsValue estimates the Breezy Victoria is worth just $11.1m, so the sale could be another example of firming tanker values.

If the deal is confirmed, it would mark the first purchase in four years for the Greek owner. Today, it has a fleet of four tankers, all aframaxes built between 2003 and 2009.

The Alex Karidopoulos-led company is renewing its fleet and in January sold the 106,000-dwt tanker Blue River (built 2002) reportedly for $11.5m.

It is now in the fleet of compatriot Stalwart Management as the Voyager 1.

This was the first sale from Estoril in seven years. It offloaded the 64,000-dwt LR1 tanker Gammatank (built 1987) in 2012.
