Offshore domiciles like the Cayman Islands have been a hot topic in Norway recently, with controversy over the new head of the country's sovereign wealth fund having registered some of his hedge fund interests in the tax haven.

It looks like shipowner Herbjorn Hansson, founder and chief executive of Nordic American Tankers (NAT), has been drawn into the fray.

Hansson, 72, recently appeared on a primetime interview show on NRK, the Norwegian broadcasting corporation. He aired his positive views about rules in the Caymans and presumably Bermuda, where his own company is domiciled.

Footage from the episode with the eccentric shipping magnate from Sandefjord underwent some doctoring and was set to island music by internet comedians. It has now drawn 200,000 views on YouTube.

This may not match the viewership of his recent appearance pumping his stock on CNBC investor show "Mad Money," but it is arguably even more entertaining.
