Christmas could be a little more fun for shipping families this year thanks to Danish company Lego.
Just weeks after a replica DFDS vessel entered the record books as the world’s largest Lego ship, the company has unveiled a construction project on a whole new scale.
Set aside some space on the living room floor, as you will need it to piece together the new fully functioning Lego Panama Canal.
The 1,184-piece set will set you back around £250 but - if you can keep all the pieces out of the Hoover - you should complete it quicker than the nine years it took engineers to finish an upgrade to the waterway which opened this year.
Lego is no stranger to shipping with various must-haves, including the Maersk Triple-E which topped many Christmas wish-lists.
The Kirk family, which is behind the iconic brand, is also a fully-fledged shipowner in its own right.
