DFDS has taken over a Swedish logistics company as it looks to further develop its services between the Nordic country and Italy.

The Danish ro-ro owner has acquired 100% of the share capital of Italcargo AB.

Niklas Andersson, head of logistics in Sweden, said: “The acquisition of Italcargo expands DFDS’ existing logistics services between Sweden and Italy, particularly enhancing our part load and premium services.”

DFDS added it expects the latest acquisition to support its goal of a 10% return on invested capital from the outset.

Italcargo posted revenue of SEK 65m ($7.17m) in 2015-2016 and employs five people.
