Japan's Ocean Network Express (ONE) has set a new productivity record at a Singapore container terminal.
Over 6,000 container moves were accomplished in 18.5 hours or at a gross berth productivity rate of over 300 ship shore moves.
The record was set during a visit of the 14,000-teu NYK Swan (built 2017) at the PSA Singapore’s Pasir Panjang Terminal in late December 2018.
“This was a significant occasion for both ONE and PSA, as it not just represented the highest productivity rate by far demonstrated by an operating vessel of ONE, but also served as a new operational benchmark for PSA,” ONE said.
Reports of the new productivity record comes just weeks after ONE announced it was joining forces with the PSA to operate a terminal.
The joint venture at Pasir Panjang will start operations in the first half of 2019 and will offer four mega-containership berths with a combined capacity of 4mteu.
