Diana Shipping has fixed one of its kamsarmaxes at a higher charter rate with Glencore Agriculture.

The New York-listed owner has entered into a time charter contract for the 82,193-dwt Maia (built 2009) at $13,300 per day from yesterday through at least 2019 and up through March 2020.

The vessel was chartered, as previously announced, at a gross charter rate of $10,125 per day to Glencore for a period of 12 months to 15 months, according to Clarksons.

The average one-year charter rate for 82,000-dwt dybulk ships stands at $14,150 per day.

Diana Shipping expects $5.44m in gross revenue for the minimum span of the time charter.

The company's fleet will consist of 48 dry bulk vessels once it completes the previously announced sales of two panamaxes.
