Genco Shipping & Trading named Jesper Christensen as vice president and commercial director of its minor bulk fleet.
Christensen came from Clipper Bulk where he served as a chartering manager since 2008 before moving up to director and head of chartering in its US office. Christensen has experience managing diverse vessel sizes ranging from handysize to panamax vessels, Genco said in a statement.
John C. Wobensmith, chief executive officer, said, “Jesper brings a wealth of chartering experience specializing in minor bulk commodities, and we are delighted to welcome him in this important role. As Genco continues to focus on both the major bulks and the minor bulks, Jesper’s appointment further advances our commercial strategy.”
Genco has a fleet of 47 ships of panamax size and lower, with an average age just over nine years old.
