Kevin Sheehan has returned to the cruise game with the purchase of Palm Beach-based Bahamas Paradise Cruise Lines (BPCL).
According to the Palm Beach Post, Sheehan’s newly set up vehicle Paradise Cruise Line Operator Ltd sealed the deal to acquire BPCL on 22 December.
Sheehan, who was CEO at NCL for seven years before leaving in January 2015, described the purchase as a family investment.
Joining him as managing partner and co-owner is Oneil Khosa a former DVB Bank ship-finance executive who in 2009 was CEO of the short-lived Indian cruise venture Blue Ocean Cruises.
The pair said they planned to expand BPCL’s operations and add capacity.
BPCL current operates the 47,200-gt Grand Celebration (built 1987) on two-night cruises from Palm Beach to the Bahamas. The vessel is on longterm charter from Grand Cruise Shipping, a company linked to Miami-based FleetPro Ocean.
