Mike Webber of Wells Fargo has secured bragging rights among Wall Street shipping analysts after coming top of the latest rankings published by Institutional Investor magazine.
Webber – who was pictured on the cover of the magazine when it published its first All American shipping table last year – again finished first ahead of Fotis Giannakoulis of Morgan Stanley.
“We're really honored and frankly humbled by the fact that our clients would give us this kind of recognition,” Webber said.
“Our client base is incredible smart and hard working - the conversations and ideas that arise through our daily conversations with them are easily the biggest asset we have.
“We've very fortunate to be in this position, and to be on a Wells Fargo platform that provides us so much support and affords us an increasing global reach.”
Jonathan Chappell of Evercore ISI leapfrogged Doug Mavrinac of Jefferies to claim third place this time around.
Kenneth Hoexter of Bank of America finished fifth with Spiro Dounis of UBS completing the top six.
