Trader and charterer Gunvor Group has appointed Muriel Schwab its group CFO.
She will be based in Geneva no later than 1 May next year, succeeding Jacques Erni, who becomes an executive director.
This marks a return to Gunvor for Schwab after she served as CFO for the Asia-Pacific region, along with being a director and chairman of the management committee of Gunvor Singapore, from 2009 to 2014.
The Swiss first joined in 2007, but left in 2014 to complete an advanced degree at Yale School of Management.
Schwab then joined Rabobank New York in 2015 as regional head of trade and commodity finance (TCF) for the Americas.
“We are very pleased to welcome Muriel back to Gunvor,” said Gunvor Group CEO Torbjorn Tornqvist.
“Having conducted an extensive search across the industry, Muriel proved to be the best candidate, with broad experience in commodities finance and a wealth of commercial insight across all continents.”
