Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries has clinched another LNG carrier order as the recent newbuilding boom shows no sign of stopping.
It said on Thursday that an unnamed client in Oceania would pay KRW 211bn ($187m) for a new ship.
Delivery will be by March 2021.
This brought its 2018 orders to a combined $5.5bn for 45 ships in total, including 14 LNG carriers.
Last week, Japan's NYK ordered two LNGCs at Samsung for $358m.
NYK has also this month inked three carriers at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), and Maran Gas ordered one at DSME, while BW Gas also signed up for two carriers there.
At the end of November, Latsco Shipping ordered two vessels at HHI.
Owners have expressed concern that order levels will eventually kill what have been record markets in the LNG sector.
