LNG cargo hold designer GTT says it signed an agreement with Teekay for additional advisory services on 23 vessels kitted out with GTT's membranes.
The enhanced technical service agreement applies to vessels equipped with GTT's Mark III and NO96 membrane technologies.
In addition to existing warranty and assistance services, Teekay will receive additional advisory and optimisation services for its LNG carriers (LNGCs), GTT said in a statement.
Philippe Berterottiere, chairman and chief executive of GTT, said the new service aims to increase turnaround time for vessels through services such as testing cargo holds without having to go to drydock.
"Teekay holds one of the major LNG fleets in the world which will reach about 40 vessels by 2019," Berterottiere said. "To assist our clients in the efficient operations of their LNGCs throughout the years, we provide them solutions to fit their new requirements, particularly by proposing tests which can be performed in operation without dry-docking.
GTT is seeking to advance its newer membrane technologies, as well. Last October, it reached the first deal to install its first Mark V technology in newbuilding ordered by GasLog.
