The Panama Maritime Authority said it repatriated 14 crew members of a Panomar Shipmanagement-owned multi-purpose vessel that had been abandoned off the coast of Venezuela.
The 5,000-dwt Pan Prosperity (built 1995) had been abandoned close to the port of Guanta. The flag state said it received a complaint from the 14 Ukrainian nationals aboard the vessel on 1 March.
The Authority said Panamanian and Greek officials tried to reach the Athens-based Panomar, but to no avail. Clarksons lists the owner as having just one other vessel, the 4,530-dwt Temeteron (1991).
The Authority provided the seafarers with a flight to Odessa on 26 March. Panomar could not be reached for immediate comment.
