Ince & Co veteran Jan Heuvels has quit as senior partner of the law firm earlier than previously planned.
Heuvels has been in the post since 2015 and will remain in a senior position in Asia leading the development of new opportunities from Hong Kong.
Heuvels said in a statement now was the right time to pass on the leadership baton. His term still had six months to run.
Peter Rogan, who held the senior partner’s post at the start of the millennium, will set into the chairmanship on an interim basis.
“As international senior partner he has successfully overseen the delivery of a number of strategically important initiatives that have significantly modernised the structure and working practices of our firm,” Rogan said.
Heuvels joined Ince in the 1993 after graduating from Hertford College, Oxford.
Earlier this year Ince was the subject of persistent merger rumours, including talks with Farley & Williams and more recently Hill Dickinson.
