Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries is contesting legal action in Nigeria relating to a new Total FPSO.
It said construction of the 200,000-bpd Egina (built 2018) was “sound and lawful”, Bloomberg reported.
It rejected claims from logistics company Ladol that it had not stuck to local regulations, Bloomberg reported.
Ladol filed a suit against Samsung in Lagos accusing it of a "failure to meet the minimum standards required to qualify for an operating licence.”
Samsung said it was in talks with "related Nigerian governmental agencies regarding Ladol’s groundless refusal on renewing the operating licence.”
