South Korea is to inspect a Russian cargoship featured on a new US blacklist for alleged trading with North Korea.
The Yonhap news agency reported the 8,700-dwt Sevastopol (built 2001) is berthed at Busan for "repair purposes", citing official records.
It is one of six ships hit by additional US sanctions on Tuesday for violating UN restrictions on trade with North Korea.
The targeted companies are Primorye Maritime Logistics and Gudzon Shipping, which controls Sevastopol.
The South Korean government will decide how to handle the issue through consultations with the US, a government official told reporters.
A check will be made to ascertain whether there are grounds for detention in accordance with UN resolutions, another source later said.
