John Fredriksen’s Deep Sea Supply has won the first contract extension for 2017 in Brazil.
The Oslo-listed company has locked the 15,000-bhp Sea Tiger (built 1998) into a one-year charter.
Deep Sea’s new deal will commence at the end of the month and comes in direct continuation of a current contract.
Brazilian oil company OGPar hired the vessel for four firm months including options back in August.
The Sea Tiger was again chartered by OGPar in 2015.
In the wake of the offshore market slump, Deep Sea revealed further vessel layups in November.
It increased the number of stacked ships from 17 to 20, out of its entire fleet of 37 vessel.
