Dof Subsea has been awarded a contract to support operations at the largest floating facility ever built.

Technip has fixed the 86-loa Geoholm (built 2006) and will deploy it to the Prelude FLNG project, operated by Shell Australia.

Dof’s multipurpose support vessel (MSV) will provide ROV and light construction support services to the mammoth $12bn-plus project in Australia.

John Loughridge, executive vice-president for Dof Subsea in Asia-Pacific, said: “We look forward to working with TechnipFMC in Australia to deliver a safe and efficient project.”

This is not the first time Dof has become involved in Shell’s huge project.

The Mons Aase-led company won a firm five-year contract last summer.

Dof has been busy chartering its ships in the last month.

The company has won long-term contracts in the Atlantic region and in Egypt.
