Global Renewables Shipbrokers (GRS) has bolstered its UK presence with the addition of two brokers to its Aberdeen office.

The renewable energy specialist has added Lorena Fernandez and David Fogg to its Scotland-based branch.

Fernandez and Fogg will mostly focus on the UK offshore renewable market, which has been gaining ground in recent months.

Philippe Schonefeld, founder of GRS, said: “We look forward to increase our UK activities further by welcoming two new colleagues with different strengths and experiences, thus we can ensure an even broader service and consultancy for our existing and future clients now covering in even greater depth the whole of the UK.”

Fernandez has 10 years of experience in the legal, commercial and supply chain while Fogg has worked for more than 20 years in the UK banking sector.

A lot of offshore vessel owners have turned their attention to the renewable energy sector amid the slump in the oil and gas industry.

GRS has been providing its services in this sector since 2011, mainly focusing on chartering offshore tonnage.
