Canada’s Halifax Regional Municipality is selling off a veteran ferry that is due to be replaced.

The authority has picked Canada’s state liquidation website govdeals.ca for the auction of the 256-gt Dartmouth III (built 1979), which runs until 9 January.

The ship is currently priced at CAD 150,000 ($114,000).

Batteries need to be replaced on the vessel, but it is otherwise in working condition.

The Chronicle Herald said its engine has been running for 13,432 hours since its last rebuild.
