A Washington State Ferries (WSF) vessel had to return to port on Monday night after a row between a couple on board.

Komo News said the 2,500-dwt Hyak (built 1967) was travelling from Bremerton to Seattle when the brawl started on a car deck and moved to a passenger cabin.

Court papers showed the woman allegedly involved, Makayla McGhee, 23, was charged with two counts of third-degree assault.

She was seen fighting a man on the ship, striking him "several times with closed fists to the head and neck area," according to witnesses.

Ferry workers stepped in and tried to separate the two, but McGhee slapped, spit and scratched them.

McGhee briefly took off all of her clothing, put her pants back on and then walked through the ferry topless until finally being restrained.

When police boarded the vessel in Bremerton, McGhee "appeared to be foaming at the mouth and was screaming at everyone," charging documents said.
