All 12 crew were evacuated after a Turkish cargoship suffered a hull breach in the Black Sea.

The 3,300-dwt Berg (built 1974) had asked for help early on Wednesday morning 16 miles off the Crimean coast, the RIA Novosti news agency reported.

A rescue vessel took eight Ukrainians and four Azeris off the vessel, while a tug brought it into the port of Feodosia.

A survey of the hull was planned.

It has suffered water ingress in the hold and has a list to starboard, the report cited the emergency ministry of Crimea as saying.

The vessel is listed as operated by Efem Gemi Kiralama Ve Deniz of Istanbul.
