A UK inquest has heard an Albanian seafarer died from a chest injury on a Greek cargoship earlier this month.
The Eastern Daily Press reported that Alfred Ismaili, 36, was killed in an accident on the 2,500-dwt SMN Explorer (built 1986) at King's Lynn on 1 February.
Cause of death was given by Johanna Thompson, assistant coroner for Norfolk, as severe blood force injury to the chest.
The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) has launched an investigation into the incident.
The family of Ismaili, from Durres, said their grief was being compounded by having to wait to fly his body home.
The Norfolk coroner’s office said the body would be released once the inquest opened.
The owner is listed as Explorer Ships, with Sky Mare Navigation of Greece the manager.
