A Greek tanker has been refloated off Psara on Tuesday.

The 2,400-dwt Eko 2 (built 2009) was said to have become stuck en route from Lesvos to supply the island's service station, the station's manager Angeliki Marinos told the Chios News website.

A tug went to the scene to help it refloat.

No injuries or pollution have been reported. The tanker has a crew of 17.

It is operated by Kinetic Shipping of Athens, which told TradeWinds it did not ground, merely touched the sea bed briefly.

The last AIS update showed it underway off Psara nine hours ago.
