Doun Kisen Kaisha’s 78,000-dwt bulk carrier Ikan Kerapu (built 2015), was refloated yesterday after spending five days atop a shoal in the Gulf of Riga.
Ship tracking data indicates that the vessel, which is operated by Singapore-based Pacific Carriers, was moved from the shoal and proceeded to an anchorage on Thursday morning local time.
The vessel grounded on Sunday while on a voyage from Riga in Latvia to Taranto in Italy.
It is not clear what damage the vessel has suffered. Pacific Carriers referred enquiries from TradeWinds to Doun. The Japanese owner has yet to respond to emailed requests for further information.
