A Norwegian ferry had to be evacuated on Monday night after grounding.

The 1,600-gt Bognes (built 1977) got stuck north of Ylvingen, local media said.

Two passengers and all five crew were taken off the vessel.

Early indications suggest major damage to the bow.

Tugs pulled the vessel free on Tuesday morning and it proceeded to Igeroy to unload cars, before heading to Sandnessjoen for repairs.

A replacement ship has been brought in. The ferry is operated by Torghatten.
