The Paris MoU has barred a Ukrainian reefer for three months after it failed its third port state check in two years.

The 1,700-gt Alyaska (built 1983) was held in Rostov-on-Don in Russia for seven days in January.

It had 13 deficiencies, including inadequate propulsion and auxiliary machinery, and inoperative fire doors.

The ship flies the flag of Belize, which is black on the current Paris MoU list of registers.

Alyaska was also detained in Rostov in July 2017 and April 2016.

It is operated by Elena Industrial & Commercial of Ukraine.
