Two seafarers were in a coma in hospital after falling from a general cargoship off Vietnam.

The men were lost from the 11,700-dwt Wise SW (built 2010) on 12 January near Vung Tao, the VN Express daily said.

They were named as Zhang Li Jin, 49, from China, and Tun Tun Oo, 31, from Myanmar.

They were reported to have slipped on deck in heavy seas while the vessel was carrying pulp from Singapore to China.

The ship is operated by Shih Wei Navigation of Taiwan.
