Chandris (Hellas) is poised to sell another vessel. The Greek owner’s 57,000-dwt Serene Juniper (built 2011) is inspectable by prospective buyers. It is presently loading at Aceh, India, and will discharge in Dharamtar, India, later this month.

VesselsValue estimates the STX Dalian Shipbuilding-constructed supramax bulker is worth about $14.6m, while Maritime Strategies International estimates a range of $14.2m to $17.7m.

The ship appeared in the Chandris fleet after it was reported purchased from Trojan Maritime for $19m in January 2015, when it was the Captain V Livanos.

Sistership trio

Chandris, which did not immediately respond to a request for comment, also owns three sisterships built in 2010 and 2011.

The reported sale effort is the latest since the bulker, LNG carrier and tanker owner last month reportedly sold its oldest VLCC.

The DSME-built, 304,000-dwt Britanis (built 2002) went to Japanese floating production, storage and offloading specialist Modec for some $20m. That deal is likely to be on long-term subjects, as the tanker remains in the fleet list of Chandris.

In April, Chandris' Egyptian subsidiary Pyramid Navigation sold the 95,000-dwt tanker Alexia 2 (built 1990) for demolition. Pyramid is left with two more tankers both built in the 1990s.

LNG assets

The company has 15 bulkers from supramaxes to capesizes and two wholly owned LNG ships in addition to a stake in the 145,000-cbm Methane Nile Eagle (built 2007). Including the Britanis, Chandris has eight tankers that range from aframaxes to VLCCs.
