Diana Shipping is has sold one of its older bulk carriers.
The Simeon Palios-led shipowner announced on Wednesday it has struck a deal to offload the 75,336-dwt Triton (built 2001) to an unaffiliated third party.
The sale will net the company $7.35m before commissions, it told investors.
The Triton will be delivered to its new owner no later than 7 January 2019.
The ship is one of Diana's six 2001-built panamax bulkers, alongside the Danae, Dione, Nirefs, Alcyon and Oceanis.
They are the oldest vessels in the company's 49 ship fleet, which comes in at an average age of 9.21 years. All six were built by Samho Heavy Industries.
Diana has suggested it would sell some of its older ships to take advantage of a stronger sentiment in the freight market.
Some analysts have suggested dry cargo asset values have moved ahead of the spot market presently.
