Bombay’s high court is auctioning off a listing cruiseship that grounded at Western India Shipyard in summer monsoon rains.

The yard is the plaintiff in the case against the 35,000-gt Qing (built 1982).

The vessel started to tilt after suffering water ingress in June.

A court order was made on 25 October to sell the cruiseship. Bids have to be in by 21 November.

The Indian Express reported ship agency Sunil Prabhu as saying in June:  “The ship Qing owned by Sahara India company was berthed at Western India Shipyard since last two years as it was awaiting repairs and conversion into a floating hotel.”
