Athenian Ship Management’s 76,000-dwt bulker Tina (built 2000) found a willing buyer at an auction held in Singapore earlier this month.

Officials at the Sheriff of Singapore’s office this week confirmed that the vessel has been sold.

Broking reports this week indicate that the ship went for $5.8m, well below the $7.59 market price pegged on it by online evaluation platform VesselsValue.

The price barely makes a dent in the $81.4m Piraeus Bank claims it is owed by shipowning entities linked to the Eleftherios Mylonopoulos-controlled Athenian Ship Management. The bank arrested the Tina in early September. Its crew subsequently filed wage claims against the ship.

While the High Court of Singapore has yet to be made public details of the sale, there are strong suggestions in shipbroking circles that the new owner of the Tina is from China.
