Spain's Naviera Armas has reportedly purchased a catamaran ropax ferry from Hellenic Seways.

The ferry owner has bought the 966-passenger Highspeed 6 (ex-Milenium, built 2000), according to Canary Islands news publication El Tambor.

Representatives of Naviera Armas and Greece's Hellenic could not be immediately reached to confirm the deal.

The Australian-built ship, which also carries 260 vehicles, is listed as idle.

The Highspeed 6 becomes Naviera Armas' 11th ropax ferry.

The company's fleet connects Spain to the Canary Islands and Morocco.
