A former BW Offshore FSO sold for scrap earlier this week is heading for India as the largest vessel to go for demolition in an active 2018.
Oslo-listed BW Offshore announced on 10 December the laid-up FSO Belokamenka was being sold.
Specialists place a price of between $400 and $409 per ldt on the former ULCC, which cash buyer GMS describes as “a more than decent” figure.
Given the vessel's huge 52,220 ldt the sale comes in at around $21m.
The Japanese-built unit, previously known as Berge Pioneer, has been stacked in Indonesia since completing a contract as a crude oil terminal for Rosneft off Murmansk, Russia, in late 2015.
