Sweden's Donsotank has signed up for two product tankers at Wuhu Shipyard in China.
It also has an optional vessel attached to the deal.
Boss Ingvar Lorensson said the 22,000-dwt ships will be ice-class 1A and commercially managed by daughter company Navix Maritime Chartering.
The tankers are due in 2021.
"They will trade together with our ships mainly in Europe, with COA mixed with spot cargoes," Lorensson added.
They will be fuelled by liquefied biogas (LBG) or LNG, with a shore connection for port operations.
The ships will prepared for a 1,000 KwH battery pack.
The battery will be decided on closer to delivery.
The owner has four 20,000-dwt tankers and one of 25,000 dwt, all built between 2004 and 2009.
