Expanding German owner GEFO has ordered two more tankers at AVIC Dinheng in China.
Brokers said the 7,500-dwt pair are due for delivery in October and December 2020.
No price has been revealed. The Hamburg owner already has six 3,600-dwt tankers on order at the yard for delivery into 2021.
These were contracted in March.
Earlier this year brokers reported GEFO had bought four tankers from Turkey's Besiktas Group: the 4,100-dwt Besiktas Champion (built 2010), Galata, Orient and Pera (all built 2009).
The ships were built by Besiktas Shipyard.
They were the smallest tankers in Besiktas Group's fleet.
VesselsValue estimated the value of the 2010-built tanker at $7m, with the others at $6.6m to $6.8m.
GEFO has 14 ships on the water.
It is a specialist in the North Sea, Baltic and Mediterranean, but operates worldwide.
