Gulf Navigation Holding is expanding its activities into shipmanagement through a fresh deal with SeaQuest.

The busy tanker owner said it has entered into a partnership agreement with the international shipmanagement and newbuilding management company.

Khamis Juma Buamim, chief executive of Gulf Nav, said: “This partnership will not only contribute in our business growth in the field of shipmanagement, but it will also contribute in the expansion of our services in the field of the technical consultancy to manage a variety of maritime projects.”

A new company will be formed in January under the latest agreement and will be headquartered in Dubai.

Gulf Nav has struck a series of deals over the past two months as it is recovering from quarterly losses and debts.

Earlier in December, the company joined forces with trader Mena Energy through a deal that could see the Dubai-based shipowner acquire newbuilding tankers and charter them to its partner.

SeaQuest has been involved in around 90 projects and more than 280 newbuildings on behalf of international shipping companies.

Sebastiano Portunato, director of SeaQuest, said: “By joining forces with one of the leading UAE shipping companies , we have the unique opportunity to enter in a very active and expanding market and bring our expertise and skills as well as our consistent and persistent approach to quality services.”
