Toisa said its aframax tanker that was recently released from a bank arrest has been fixed out on a spot charter.
The Gregory Callimanopulos-led shipowner said the 113,000-dwt United Journey (built 2010) has been fixed to load out of West Africa for Italy. Trading firm Petraco is the charterer. No rate for the charter was released.
Toisa managed to get the United Journey released from a vessel arrest on 21 February. Citibank arrested the vessel last December over some $102m in outstanding bank debt backed by the United Journey and the 110,000-dwt United Seas (built 2008).
Toisa said was able to get a US bankruptcy judge to free up some of its cash collateral in order to keep operations going during its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.
Toisa said the it working "cooperatively with its stakeholders on a financial restructuring plan" following its voluntary Chapter 11 filing.
