Search efforts were continuing on Thursday after 14 crew members were reported missing following a collision between a tanker and a sand barge off China.
A fire subsequently broke out on the tanker, named by state media as Long Qing 1, which was sailing off Shanghai.
Aerial video footage showed flames erupting from the vessel and black smoke billowing into the sky as coastguard vessels tried to douse it with water.
State broadcaster CCTV said three people had been rescued. These are believed to be all the crew on board the barge at the time.
Maritime Bulletin reported that the ship was carrying 3,000 tonnes of fuel oil.
The sand barge later sank in the Yangtze Estuary.
The Long Qing 1 does not appear to have an IMO number and does not appear in shipping databases.
The vessel does have a Maritime Mobile Service Identity (MMSI) number, however, and is flagged in China.
AIS data shows it was en route from Ningbo to Panjin at the time of the accident, and due to arrive on 24 August.
