Three Norwegian OSV players have clinched new frame agreements with Aker BP - with closer relationships possible in the future.
The deals cover platform supply vessel (PSV) services off Norway.
Solstad Offshore, Eidesvik Offshore and Simon Mokster said their agreements are for three firm years, with two options of two years each.
Vessels will be on call to Aker BP each year, which is expected "to significantly contribute to an increased utilisation" of its fleet, Solstad added.
Aker BP SVP for improvement Per Harald Kongelf added: “The establishment of these frame agreements...is the first step towards a strategic partnership with the potential to evolve into a future alliance concept."
The oil company will work closely with the owners to develop commercial compensation models, Eidesvik revealed.
"We are very pleased to be recognised as a quality provider of supply vessel services by Aker BP and look forward to strengthening our already close relation in the years to come. This is also a recognition of the service provided by our employees on board our vessels", said Kenneth Lande, Solstad's EVP for AHTS/PSV strategic regions.
The goal is to secure Aker BP’s need for safe and reliable transportation of cargo to offshore facilities.
Mokster said: "Mokster is very proud and satisfied to enter the agreement that offers opportunities for long and sustainable contracts for a first-class charterer."
